FUNDING

Our goal is to make Miwok Stables into a model public riding facility, celebrating the many ways members of the public can enjoy an equestrian facility in our National Park and the rich history that it encompasses.  We’re donating our time and our financial resources to do so. We would greatly appreciate your support - please join us!

The Programs

Our highest priority is to provide equestrian programs to those less fortunate, through our Outreach Programs. We have served groups from Sunny Hills Children’s Services, San Francisco Police Department Juvenile Division and Hunter’s Point City of Dreams, and will expand to more groups as the Center grows.

The Projects

  • A major clean-up including refurbishing of the residence, updating the horse stalls, repairing broken paddocks and barn siding and other deferred maintenance projects have been completed.
  • The large outdoor riding ring was re-built in the fall of 2007, addressing critical drainage issues so that it can be used more often during inclement weather.
  • The seasonal water shortage problems due to the variances of the natural springs have been somewhat abated by two storage tanks and pump systems.
  • The charming Red Barn and original Residence will receive much needed deferred maintenance and restoration, so they can be used for public events and programs.

 The Benefits

  • Increased public riding, trail rides for tourists, lessons for beginners, kids camps, and programs for equestrians of all kinds.
  • Opportunities for non-riding members of the public interested in the history of an early California Ranch or the science of veterinary medicine
  • Improved boarding and horse care services

The Act of Giving

Today, we are faced with deteriorating facilities to serve our growing community and we are asking for your assistance to help us rebuild and develop this valuable local treasure. Through the act of giving, you can feel assured that you are preserving and protecting an historic site, and that you are giving thousands of people of all ages the opportunity to experience a California ranch, horses, and the great outdoors.

We hope you’ll join us by donating to the Miwok Stables Center.  Your contributions are fully tax deductible. Thank You.
