Outdoor Lesson Arenas

We have four schooling arenas where classes are taught. Outreach therapeutic lessons, children's afterschool, kids team lessons, summer day camps, adult lessons, introductory courses and clinics, all take place in the arenas.

When the Center took on the aged facility in September of 2006, the schooling arenas were in bad shape, pummelled by hooves for fifty years, blown by ocean gales and flooded with winter rain, the surface had become a bowl and the footing unreliable. We immediately began planning a total re-grading project.

After a year of planning and fundraising, we broke ground in August, 2007, and completed the job in six weeks. An engineering firm, Building the Equestrian Dream specializing in riding arenas, engineered and built the arenas under the able oversight of volunteer project manager, Charlotte Venner.

We thank Charlotte Venner for her superb dedication, enthusiasm and efficiency. We are also indebted to the generous members of the community who donated over $50,000 to pay for these improvements to the National Park facility.
